Ranchorji Temple.

Ranchorji Deities were worshiped until 800 years ago in Dvaraka and then They were moved to Dakor. The present temple was built in 1772.

Ranchorji is Deity of Krishna most dear to people in Gujarat.

"Rancor" literary means !one who fled from the battlefield" and Krishna got this name after leaving the battle with Jarasandha.

Krishna didn't fled from the battle because of fear. He wanted to stop more killing and to attend to confidential letter from His future wife Rukmini. He also displayed His sublime quality of renunciation.

Ranchorji Deity is similar to Dvarakadish in Dvaraka, both are from black stone. We do not have the picture because of strict prohibition.

The pillar on the right is actually a gigantic ghee lamp.
