Ranchorji Temple.
Ranchorji Deities were worshiped until 800 years ago in
Dvaraka and then They were moved to Dakor. The present
temple was built in 1772.
Ranchorji is Deity of Krishna most dear to people in
Gujarat.
"Rancor" literary means !one who fled from the
battlefield" and Krishna got this name after leaving
the battle with Jarasandha.
Krishna didn't fled from the battle because of fear. He
wanted to stop more killing and to attend to
confidential letter from His future wife Rukmini. He
also displayed His sublime quality of renunciation.
Ranchorji Deity is similar to Dvarakadish in Dvaraka,
both are from black stone. We do not have the picture
because of strict prohibition.
The pillar on the right is actually a gigantic ghee lamp.
